
The National Hajj Commission (NAHCON), Thursday expressed satisfaction with the arrangement put in place by Kebbi state preparatory to airlift to Saudi Arabia.
This was the verdict of NAHCON chairman, Ambassador Isma’il Ahmad, after inspection of the hajj facilities in Birnin Kebbi.
Represented by the North West zonal commissioner of the commission, Muhammad Usman, the chairman stated that the inspection visit was essential to assess the readiness of states for the pilgrimage.
“The major concern by NAHCON is the provision of facilities for pilgrims and their security.
“We are absolutely satisfied about the perfect arrangement put in place by Kebbi state, which is worthy of emulation.
“NAHCON is committed to hitch-free, flawless hajj exercise nationwide, the commission is happy with Kebbi on meeting this target objective,” he stated.
The executive chairman, Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Faruku Aliyu Yaro, informed the NAHCON delegation that the agency has completed all arrangements and met the prerequisite stipulations on the conduct of the hajj exercise.
“We are fully ready to start evacuation of our pilgrims when the airlift commences on 2nd May, 2026 at the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport, Birnin Kebbi.
“The state has the largest number of pilgrims in the country who have paid their fares in full.
“The agency has secured all travel documents for the pilgrims, including visas as well as uniform, bags, and other essentials.
“Furthermore, all pilgrims have undergone medical screening to ensure that none of them is afflicted or bearing the nine underlining diseases enumerated by the Saudi authorities that can disqualify any pilgrim from travelling to the hajj.”
