Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has called on Nigerians to support President Bola Tinubu for a second term in 2027, urging unity across the southern region of the country.
Fubara made the appeal on Thursday while declaring open a meeting of the Southern Nigeria Traditional Rulers Council in Port Harcourt, where he described Tinubu as a “dedicated and patriotic” leader whose administration deserves continuity.
He said the president should be given another term to continue implementing what he called a bold and ambitious development agenda, noting that Nigerians are already witnessing economic and infrastructure improvements under the administration’s “Renewed Hope” programme.
According to him, ongoing projects such as major road developments and economic reforms show progress that should be sustained beyond the current term.
Fubara also called for stronger cooperation among southern stakeholders, saying regional unity would help promote peace, development, and shared progress.
He emphasised the importance of traditional rulers in national development, describing them as key links between government and grassroots communities.
The meeting brought together monarchs from the South-South, South-East, and South-West, including the Ooni of Ife, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, and the Eze Cletus Ilomuanya, among others.
The gathering focused on strengthening unity, peace, and cooperation among traditional institutions in southern Nigeria.
