Former governor of Sokoto state, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, weekend declared that the African Democratic Party (ADC) will emerge victorious in the 2027 general elections.

Senator Tambuwal stated this while fielding questions from newsmen in Sokoto after the ADC state congress held at the party’s state secretariat in Sokoto.

He said the ADC became attractive because it possesses the qualities and programmes to tackle the country’s lingering security and economic problems.

He accused some governors, especially from the opposition party, who despite the glaring failure of the Tinubu- led administration are rushing to join APC to seek refuge.

He reminded the governors that power belongs to God and it is the God Almighty who gives and takes power when he so wishes.

“Let me remind you the episode of  2018, l was the sitting governor of Sokoto state under the platform of the APC and late Mohammed Buhari was the leader of the APC and leader of the country when l saw things are not going on the right direction, l decided to leave the party and I won my election.

“I can remember six of my colleagues came to Sokoto and begged me not to defect because according to them, l will lose my reelection bid if l left the ruling party at the centre.

“My response to them was that power belongs to God and neither the federal might nor late President Buhari could give you power.

“And I know my relationship with people of Sokoto state. l can boast to say I have performed creditably well in terms  of infrastructural and human development. People of Sokoto state stood by me and so l won my second term.

“It is amazing that today, virtually all the governors are rushing to APC.”
