Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, on Thursday held a meeting with members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the state currently serving in the House of Representatives.

The meeting has sparked fresh speculation about a possible political shift, as signs continue to emerge that the governor may be considering leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling APC.

After the meeting, an unnamed Bauchi House of Representatives member, speaking to journalists with the governor present, said:

“We are here today as members of the National Assembly to meet with our governor and leader. We are here on a special invitation to discuss the ongoing realignment that is happening in Nigeria, and particularly in our state, to talk about the political developments here.

“We have reached a certain positive conclusion, and within a short period of time we will come out again and make our position known for the world to know what our discussions are all about.”

Earlier, Mohammed and a senior PDP member had met with some stakeholders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as he weighs his options ahead of the upcoming elections.
