The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has again increased the gantry price of petrol and diesel.

Data from the Refinery showed prices moved to N1,275 per litre while diesel jumped to N1,950. This represents a N75 increase.

Since the commencement of the U.S-Israel-Iran conflict, prices of crude has gone from about $80 to over $100 per barrel. This has also reflected in the pump of petroleum products globally and Nigerian in particular.

The situation has further led to increased pressures on Nigerians who have seen the prices of goods and services climb.

Officials say the adjustment by the Refinery is a response to prevailing international crude oil benchmarks and market realities.

“Petrol has been reviewed upward by N75 to N1,275 per litre, which is about a five per cent increase, while diesel has increased more significantly by N200 to N1,950 per litre,” an official said.

On Monday, Aliko Dangote, the president of Dangote Refinery, assured Nigerians and Africans of maximum and sufficient petrol supply despite the disruption caused by the ongoing conflict.

“What I can do is assure Nigerians and most of West Africa, Central Africa, and East Africa that we have the capacity to supply them,” he said.
