US President Donald Trump was rushed to safety on Saturday evening after suspected gunshots were heard. The US President was attending the White House correspondents’ dinner at the Washington Hilton when he was interrupted by a commotion.
Loud bangs could be heard, prompting the Secret Service to rush in and escort the president away from the venue as they called out “stay down, stay down”.
Stephen Miller, Trump’s top adviser, could be seen being escorted from the crowd and out of the venue. Most other attendees initially crouched down during the commotion but remained inside after the president was evacuated.
