The League of Anambra Journalists in Abuja (LAJA) has extended warm Easter greetings to Christians across Nigeria and the world, describing the resurrection of Jesus Christ as a “profound symbol of sacrifice, victory over death, and the promise of new life.”
In a statement on Sunday and signed by its President, Amb. Ikenna Okonkwo, and Secretary, Princess-Ekwi Ajide, the group noted that Easter serves as a reminder that light will always triumph over darkness, and that hope can emerge even in challenging times.
The group highlighted the current difficulties facing Nigeria, including economic challenges, social uncertainty, and rising insecurity.
It urged citizens to draw strength from the season, renew their faith, foster unity, and extend compassion to those in need.
Expressing concern over the persistent insecurity across the country, the League called on all tiers of government to fulfill their constitutional responsibility of protecting lives and property.
It emphasised that Nigerians deserve sustained, transparent, and decisive action to restore confidence and ensure security.
LAJA, equally encouraged citizens to remain resilient and united, reminding Nigerians that “after suffering comes restoration, and after darkness, light.” The statement prayed for healing, peace, and renewed hope across the nation during this sacred season.
