The governor also announced an increase in the institution’s monthly subvention from N100 million to N250 million to enhance its operational capacity and improve learning conditions.
He said the state government would not hesitate to support initiatives that promote educational development.
Okpebholo stated this Tuesday during the commissioning of the Ehi Aganmonmen Business Administration E-Library, Fitness Centre and a new university health cfentre.
He described the projects as a major step towards repositioning the education sector, noting that they reflect his administration’s commitment to academic excellence and improved healthcare delivery within tertiary institutions.
Okpebholo further acknowledged contributions from other stakeholders, including a parent who sponsored the architectural designs and the vice-chancellor, Prof. Adetimirin, who donated one month’s salary to support the projects.
He called on corporate organisations and well-meaning individuals to partner with government in driving development, adding that government alone cannot meet all societal needs.
