Today’s Fox News ground to a halt to deliver a breaking announcement about King Charles III and President Donald Trump as the monarch and Queen Camilla wrapped up their tour of the United States. As a breaking news banner flashed across the screen, the men and their wives were at the White House in Washington DC for a formal farewell ceremony to mark the end of their historic state visit. As the cameras were rolling the 70-year-old President uttered six powerful words to Charles, by saying: “The greatest king in my book.” However, when the King was asked what his favourite moment from the visit to the US was, there was no clear answer. Instead, he smiled.

Shortly after their car drove off, Trump told the press: “Great people. We need more people like that in our country.”

Charles and Camilla were driven to Arlington Cemetery and laid a wreath at the foot of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Camilla then placed some flowers at the bottom of the monument.

Much of the visit mirrored elements of the same trip his mother Queen Elizabeth II undertook in 1957, as she too laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

Fox News viewers flocked to X to comment on the breaking announcement on X, with one person remarking: “Regardless of what you think of Donald Trump, moments like this with King Charles III and Queen Camilla are about maintaining long-standing alliances, not just personal praise.”

Another said: “President Trump did a fantastic job welcoming King Charles.” A third said: “Class act from President Trump. Welcoming King Charles III and Queen Camilla at the White House with respect and strength — while calling him the greatest king in my book. After years of America being mocked and disrespected globally, Trump is restoring dignity and real leadership on the world stage.”

The visit was to commemorate the United States’ 250th anniversary and the special bond the nation shares with the UK.

Earlier this week, Charles received a standing ovation following his in-depth speech to Congress about the relationship between the countries, as well as the importance of NATO and caring for the environment.
