The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Thursday  commended Governor Uba Sani for what it described as his strong support for hajj operations and reforms in Kaduna state.

The commendation followed an inspection visit by a NAHCON delegation led by the North-West Zonal Commissioner, Sheikh Muhammad Bin Othman, to the Kaduna State Hajj Transit Camp in Mando, as part of preparations for the 2026 Hajj.

Speaking during the visit, Bin Othman attributed the progress recorded at the facility to the governor’s commitment, noting that the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has undertaken major projects through effective leadership and support.

He said the agency had constructed a modern reception hall, an ultra-modern market and an ICT centre, as well as rehabilitated the transit camp.

“What we see here in Kaduna is a direct result of purposeful governance. The governor has demonstrated unwavering commitment, enabling the agency to execute projects that stand out among pilgrims’ welfare agencies in the country,” he said.

The commissioner urged other state governments to emulate the Kaduna model, adding that such efforts would improve the welfare of pilgrims nationwide.

The delegation also acknowledged interventions by the state government, including construction of access roads, culverts and installation of solar-powered streetlights at the camp, which it said would enhance the smooth conduct of the hajj exercise.

Responding, the administrative secretary of the agency, Malam Baba Rufa’i, who represented the executive chairman, said the achievements were made possible through sustained government support.
