In a bid to strengthen grassroots political structures, the Chairman of Imota Local Council Development Area, Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele, joined key stakeholders at a high-level strategic meeting convened by the Lagos State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, alongside newly inaugurated state Executive Committee (EXCO) members.
The meeting, held on Wednesday, 1 April, 2026, at the APC State Secretariat, Acme Road, Ogba, Ikeja, served as a critical platform for deliberations on party unity, grassroots mobilization, and strategies aimed at consolidating the APC’s political dominance across Lagos State ahead of future electoral cycles.
Hon. Benson Sunday Ayodele’s presence underscored the importance of synergy between grassroots leadership and the state party structure, reinforcing efforts to align local governance with broader political objectives.
Speaking during the engagement, Hon. Benson commended the leadership of the party and emphasized the need for sustained grassroots mobilization as a key driver of continued success.
“The All Progressives Congress remains the party of progressive governance and people-centred development in Lagos State and Nigeria. I commend the wisdom of our State Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, and the new State EXCO for providing this platform for unity and strategic planning,” he said.
He further stressed that grassroots mobilization remains central to the party’s strength and electoral success.
“Mobilization is the lifeblood of our party’s continued success. When we mobilize effectively at the ward and LCDA levels, we strengthen the foundation of the APC and ensure that the progressive vision of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu reaches every corner of Lagos State. I remain fully committed to this cause and assure the State leadership of Imota LCDA’s total support,” he added.
Pastor Ojelabi had earlier charged the newly inaugurated executive members to prioritize unity, diligence, and active engagement, noting that these values are essential for sustaining the party’s dominance in the state. He also commended council chairmen for their loyalty and consistent participation in party affairs.
The engagement reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to inclusive leadership and collaboration across all tiers of governance, from the state executive to the 20 Local Governments and 37 LCDAs, towards delivering impactful governance and strengthening democratic dividends at the grassroots.
Hon. Benson continues to exemplify proactive grassroots leadership, effectively bridging the gap between the people of Imota LCDA and the broader progressive agenda of the APC.
As the party intensifies efforts to consolidate its structures, such strategic engagements are expected to enhance service delivery and sustain political stability across the state.
