Wife of the Jigawa State Governor, Dr Amina Namadi, has called on Nigerians to give President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Umar Namadi a second chance to deliver greater development for Nigeria and Jigawa State.

Dr Amina made the call on Saturday, while receiving about 2,000 defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Dutse, the state capital.

She said the increasing number of opposition members joining the APC is a clear sign that people are satisfied with the ruling party’s leadership style and believe in its vision for national growth.

According to her, APC remains the dominant political party in Nigeria because of its commitment to people-centred governance, unity, and development.

The First Lady noted that the administration of Governor Umar Namadi is focused on fairness, inclusion, and equal opportunities for all citizens, regardless of political background.

She assured the new members that they would enjoy the same rights and opportunities as old members of the party, stressing that no one would be left behind.

Dr Amina said Governor Namadi’s government is committed to carrying everyone along through people-oriented projects in education, healthcare, agriculture, road construction, youth empowerment, and social welfare.

She added that the visible development projects across Jigawa State are among the reasons more people are leaving other parties to join the APC.

The Governor’s wife also said the party is fully prepared for future elections, expressing confidence that Nigerians will continue to support President Tinubu and Governor Namadi for sustained progress and stability.

She urged citizens to remain united and support leaders who are working for peace, prosperity, and national development.

For many political observers, the wave of defections into the APC in Jigawa reflects the growing influence of the ruling party ahead of future political contests.
