The Kano state governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has confirmed the appointment of Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu Maimota as the state’s substantive Head of Civil Service.
A statement issued by the governor’s chief press secretary, Mustapha Muhammad on Friday stated that the appointment was at the event marking the payments of the sixth tranche of long-standing gratuities and death benefits owed to pensioners and families of deceased civil servants.
Barely one month ago, Maimota stepped into the role in an acting capacity, following the removal of Alhaji Abdullahi Musa.
The governor, while announcing the confirmation, charged the new head of service to deploy her decade-long experience toward revamping the system, emphasising the need to consolidate ongoing reforms and deliver a more responsive, efficient, and accountable public service.
