NACABS  Poly matriculates 610 students, warns against sex-for- marks

NACABS Polytechnic Akwanga, Nasarawa state,  Friday, matriculated 610 National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) students for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The Founder of the institution Mr. Monday David-Abuluya, stated this during the 14th matriculation ceremony of the institution for 2025/ 2026 academic session in Akwanga LGA of the state.

Abuluya said that the institution would not tolerate any act of misconduct, hence the need of his call in that direction.

He warned against sex-for- marks and vowed to dismiss any staff caught in sex- for grades, extortion and other form of misconducts in the school.

According to him, “I want to advise against sex for marks, grades, money for grades, extortion and I also want to advise female students against prostitution”

He also advised students against examination malpractice, drug abuse, and other social bills.

Abuluya, who is the President, Eggon Cultural and Development Association ( ECDA) said that 90 per cent of the students in the school were on scholarship, saying that the school in years has witnessed tremendous growth and development.

He urged the students to take their studies with seriousness in order to excel in their academic pursuits.

On his part, Rector of the Institution Mr. Audu Timothy Maikori, while declaring the Matriculation open, congratulated the students and urged them to be serious in their academics.

Represented by the Deputy Rector of the school, Barr. David Agbutun said ” I warmly congratulate our matriculating students. Your admission into this Polytechnic is a reflection of your effort, your ambition, and your readiness to pursue knowledge and skill.

Earlier, Registrar of the Institution, Mr. Usman Ogah, while Administering the Oath of matriculation on the students, urged the new students to abide by the oath in their interest and for the overall development of the education sector.nd regulations, adding that any students caught violating the school’s rules would be punished accordingly.

Responding, Miss. Comfort Emmanuel, a new student is promised to abide by the school rules and regulations  while pledging to take their studies with seriousness.
