
A former deputy governor of Nasarawa state, Hon. Silas Ali Agara, has inaugurated a 9,050-man committee to steer his senatorial campaign for the 2027 election.
Agara explained that 260 members were selected from wards and local government areas while 8,790 were traced from 586 polling units; 15 each across the zone.
He explained that the members drew from a broad mix of experienced politicians and grassroots mobilisers across the three local government areas that constitute the senatorial zone, including Akwanga, Wamba and Nasarawa Eggon.
Unveiling the committee in Akwanga local government area of Nasarawa state, Sunday Agara explained that the move cut across 35 electoral wards in the zone and was meant to actualise his Nasarawa North senatorial ambition for the 2027 elections.
Agara who is contesting under the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) challenging governor Abdullahi Sule senatorial ambition come 2027, said the campaign team will function as the central coordinating body and responsible for driving campaign strategy, mobilisation and overall political direction.
He said the committee is expected to give policy and strategy direction towards his senatorial project.
“The committee will also fashion and implement effective strategies to ensure his success at the primaries and at the general elections. I am out to win not just the primary but the general elections”.
Agara highlighted that Akwanga local government has 11 electoral wards, Wamba 10, and Nasarawa Eggon has 14, and selected 15 persons from each polling unit while 5 persons each were selected from electoral wards.
He thanked the people of the zone for their dedication, resilience and commitments and promised to justify the confidence repose on him. “Every local government will get it share accidentally. He promised.
In his vote of thanks, a former Commissioner of Information, Culture and Tourism Mohammed Lawal Yakubu, commended Agara for his humility and commitment and promised to deliver him at the primary and general elections.
Yakubu expressed confidence in Agara’s leadership, citing his efforts in driving development and progress across the zone.
