A former National Publicity Secretary of Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Jibril Sabo Keana, (JSK) has formally declared his intention to run for governor of Nasarawa state in the 2027 general elections under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) platform.
In a pre-declaration address at the African Democratic Party (ADC) Secretariat in Keana on Monday, Sabo Keana (JSK) formally presented his letter of interest to contest for the governorship of Nasarawa state in 2027.
Keana, popularly known as JSK said his ambition is not driven by personal power, but by a responsibility to restore confidence in leadership and reposition Nasarawa for inclusive and all round growth.
” My vision centered on the ordinary people of Nasarawa state, aiming to restore confidence in leadership and drive inclusive growth. I seek your trust, your support, and your mandate to build a Nasarawa state that works for everybody,” he said.
“These initiatives are designed to drive progress and improve the lives of Nasarawa state’s citizens.”
He stressed that since its creation in 1996, Nasarawa state has remained a land of promise.
“Yet, too many citizens are still waiting for the dividends of purposeful governance—security in their communities, quality education for their children, access to healthcare, economic opportunities for families, and unity beyond political and ethnic divides”.
He therefore, unveiled an eight-point development agenda in his home town of Keana Nasarawa state, focusing on Development, Security, and Progress (DSP).
He said his eight-point development agenda also aimed at transforming Nasarawa state through key initiatives.
These according to him, include implementing intelligence-driven community security to protect lives and farms, promoting transparent governance and digital institutional reforms, and completing strategic infrastructure projects like the Farin Ruwa Electricity Project and a statewide Ring Road.
In additiona, his plan involves reconstructing primary school infrastructure and establishing a Produce Marketing Board to support farmers.
Other key aspects of the agenda mentioned focus on revitalizing Primary Healthcare Centres, launching economic empowerment programs for women, and strengthening the interface between state, local government, and traditional institutions to foster social harmony and peace.
JSK therefore, called on party faithful and citizens to unite behind his vision for progress, emphasizing that his ambition is driven by a responsibility to serve the people, not personal power.
