The management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has released the schedule of activities for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II Orientation Course.
The scheme disclosed that the 21-day orientation exercise would be conducted simultaneously across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory.
In a statement signed by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, the NYSC said the orientation course would commence with the reception and registration of prospective corps members on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.
According to the statement, the registration exercise will run until midnight on Friday, April 24, 2026.
The scheme added that prospective corps members mobilised for the 2026 Batch ‘A’ Stream II service year would be sworn in on Friday, April 24, 2026.
The swearing-in ceremony traditionally marks the formal admission of corps members into national service.
The NYSC further disclosed that the orientation course would end on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, after the completion of the mandatory three-week programme.
The orientation programme usually includes paramilitary drills, lectures, skills acquisition training, and other activities aimed at preparing corps members for national service.
While wishing the prospective corps members safe journeys to their respective orientation camps, the scheme reiterated its warning against night travel.
“Prospective Corps Members are advised to break their journeys once it’s 6.00 pm and pass the night at any available Corps Members’ Lodge, military formation, police station/outpost or palace of a traditional ruler anywhere in the country, then continue the following morning,” the statement read.
