

The lawmaker representing Ogun West Senatorial District, Solomon Adeola, has picked up the N50 million governorship nomination forms of the All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 Ogun State governorship election.
The forms were obtained on his behalf on Tuesday, signalling his official entry into the race for the Ogun State governorship.
The APC National Organising Secretary, Suleiman Argungu, presented the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to Adeola’s proxy at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja.
Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission has scheduled the presidential and National Assembly elections for January 16, 2027, while governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections are set for February 6, 2027.
INEC also announced that party primaries, including the resolution of disputes, will take place between April 23 and May 30, 2026.
According to the commission, campaigns for the presidential and National Assembly elections will begin on August 19, 2026, while governorship and state assembly campaigns will commence on September 9, 2026.
