Olayinka Wins APOEL Goal Of The Month As Ndidi Laments Beşiktaş Draw

Nigerian forward Peter Olayinka has been crowned Goal of the Month winner at APOEL FC after his stunning strike in the Cypriot Cup clash against Apollon Limassol.

Peter Olayinka, 29, enjoyed a productive spell in front of goal during the month, scoring in back-to-back matches. He was also on target in the dramatic 3-3 draw with Pafos FC on Sunday.

Olayinka acknowledged the recognition on Facebook, saying: “Happy to win the Goal of the Month.”

The Nigerian joined APOEL on a free transfer earlier this year and has found the net twice in 10 league appearances for the 29-time Cypriot champions.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles captain, Wilfred Ndidi has voiced frustration after Beşiktaş were held to a home draw by Fatih Karagumruk.

Despite dominating large spells of the game, Beşiktaş failed to convert their chances, with the visitors producing a stubborn defensive display.

Ndidi did not hide his disappointment when speaking to NTV Spor.

“The draw is very disappointing. We started the game badly, we couldn’t find a solution in the first half,” he said.

“We needed to react in the second half, but overall we were bad.

“This is unacceptable. We will focus on the next game and we have to do better.”

Beşiktaş remain fourth on the table on 56 points They will face Gaziantep in their next league outing on Friday.
