
The acting Governor PMAN FCT Chapter, Micheal Oyibo, has rolled out plans to revolutionaĺise association in the territory.
He made this known at the inaugural press conference of the association, weekend in Abuja.
Oyibo, known in the entertainment circle as Kaycee Kline, stated that the PMAN, is a formidable and strategic institution established to protect, promote and advance the interests of musicians within the entertainment ecosystem.
He noted that the union in recent years has not lived fully lived up to the expectations of it’s members, due to the long standing internal disagreement, lack of continuity in leadership direction factors that have slowed growth and effected the welfare and career development of members.
Oyibo declared that the time was ripe for a shift from stagnation to structure, division to unity and performance.
He emphasised that the association is backed by the constitution of the government which guarantees freedom of association, and further strethened by the Trade Unions Act, which empowers unions to regulate, organise and protect the interests of members.
The PMAN boss asserted that the association was committed to transparency, inclusiveness and action hence the call for the members participation as this is essential for practical, measurable and lasting results, that will build a structured, disciplined and credible association that will earn the trust and recognition of government and stakeholders.
He further averred that the association would establish clear administrative systems, strengthen documentation and data management and introduce digital membership registration and ID system, with a functional Secretariat.
Oyibo reiterated that all events within the FCT involving live music must be duly recognised by PMAN Abuja chapter, in line with the association’s regulatory responsibilities.
Blueprint repoets that high point of the event was the Patron of the Association, Chief Ukochukwu Akunodozie, MD/CEO Blake Resort, in line with his yearly philanthropic gesture for indigent women, giving out palliatives to mark his birthday.
