President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has condoled with the government and people of Kebbi state on the death of the speaker, House of Assembly and communities massacred by bandits and 11 soldiers killed in an ambush.
Vice President Kashim Shettima delivered the president’s message to Governor Nasir Idris at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi, Tuesday.
In it, President Tinubu described the incidence as a sad development.
“I’m in Kebbi on the behest of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to commiserate and register profound condolences and empathy on the sad development in the state.
“The demise of the speaker, Kebbi House of Assembly, Usman Muhammad Zuru, the destruction of communities in Shanga local government area, and the loss of 11 soldiers at Giron Masa.
“We condole with you, the governor, the government, the people, the security and our hearts are with you.
“President Tinubu instructed me to come with the DG NEMA to provide succour to the affected communities.
“Mr. President prays for our gallant troops, we assure you the GOC that the losses are not in vain.”
