Troops of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have arrested a suspected terrorist during a targeted operation in Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State.
The development was disclosed in a post shared on X by security analyst, Zagazola Makama on Thursday.
According to the post, the operation was carried out on April 15, 2026, after troops received intelligence about the presence of a suspected criminal hiding in Tse Atu community.
Troops of Sector 1 OPWS, deployed in Anguhah and Umbagbo, were said to have responded swiftly to the information and moved into the area for a targeted operation.
During the raid, one suspect was arrested, while a motorcycle believed to be linked to the suspect was also recovered.
“The suspect and the recovered item are currently in custody as security operatives continue investigations to determine the suspect’s level of involvement in criminal activities,” Makama wrote.
Efforts are also ongoing to gather more information and prevent further security threats in the area.
