Ademola Lookman scored a crucial first-half goal as Atlético Madrid advanced to the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League with a 3–2 aggregate victory over FC Barcelona on Tuesday.
Early goals from Lamine Yamal and Ferran Torres had drawn Barcelona level on aggregate before Lookman responded with the decisive strike for Diego Simeone’s side.
Barcelona’s task became more difficult after Eric García was sent off 11 minutes from time, leaving the visitors with 10 men.
Despite securing a 2–1 win on the night, Barcelona were eliminated from the competition on aggregate.
Atletico Madrid progressed to the last four of the competition following the result.
