A Nigerian woman residing in South Africa has issued a passionate appeal to the Federal Government over what she described as worsening hostility and increasing hardship faced by Nigerians living in the country.
In a viral video circulating on social media, the woman lamented that many Nigerians in South Africa are currently living in fear amid what she termed a “hostile environment” and a lack of adequate protection or support from relevant authorities.
She alleged that Nigerians in the country are going through difficult and unsafe conditions, warning that the situation is becoming unbearable for many of them who rely on the diaspora community for survival.
According to her, the absence of timely intervention and diplomatic engagement has left Nigerian nationals vulnerable, adding that urgent steps are needed to address their safety concerns.
“We are dying in silence,” she said, calling on the Federal Government to urgently engage South African authorities and ensure better protection and fair treatment for Nigerians residing in the country.
The video has since sparked renewed conversations on the welfare of Nigerians in the diaspora, particularly in South Africa, where concerns over hostility and strained relations have occasionally been reported.
