As the countdown to the 2027 general elections continues, political manoeuvres are intensifying across Yobe state.
The latest twist comes from a coalition of grassroots supporters who have pledged unwavering loyalty to a governorship hopeful on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Two influential groups – Yobe First Movement and the Haskay Women’s Wing have jointly announced their full endorsement of Kashim Musa Tumsa as their sole candidate for the state’s top job.
The declaration was made at a crowded rally, where group leaders took turns to extol Tumsa’s leadership credentials and vision for the state.
According to them, he stands out as the most capable hand to steer Yobe’s affairs from 2027.
Beyond verbal support,the groups made a concrete financial pledge, planning to raise a substantial sum to buy the APC governorship nomination form for Tumsa ahead of the party’s primary election in May.
The coalition also called on other support organisations to join the train, noting that early mobilisation was crucial for electoral success.
