Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state has named Mohammed Goje as the new acting Secretary to the State Government (SSG), effective immediately.
The appointment was made public on Wednesday April 29, 2026 through a statement from Mamman Mohammed, the governor’s director-general of press and media affairs.
Goje steps into the role previously held by Baba Mallam Wali, who has recently been endorsed as a leading candidate for the state’s 2027 gubernatorial election.
Prior to this new position, Goje served as the Executive Secretary of the Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).
In his announcement, Governor Buni called on the newly appointed SSG to refocus his energy on serving the state and prioritising the well-being of its citizens.
