Presidential aspirant Mohammed Hayatu-Deen on Friday picked the African Democratic Congress presidential expression of interest and nomination forms ahead of the 2027 elections.

This was as he pledged to address insecurity, create jobs and ease the high cost of living facing millions of Nigerians.

Hayatu-Deen, a renowned economist, is the first aspirant to obtain the ADC presidential nomination form.

He received it from the party’s National Organising Secretary, Prince Chinedu Idigo, in a move supporters described as a strong sign of growing momentum for his candidacy.

Shortly after receiving the N100m forms, Hayatu-Deen, in a statement by his media unit, said the 2027 election should focus on restoring the nation economic stability and strengthening security.

Hayatu-Deen, as contained in the statement, said, “Nigerians are tired of living in fear. They are tired of watching businesses struggle, jobs disappear, and the cost of basic necessities rise beyond what ordinary people can afford.

“This election cannot be about politics as usual. It must be about how to secure our communities, rebuild confidence in the economy, create jobs at scale, and make life more affordable for millions of Nigerians.

“We cannot build prosperity in an atmosphere of fear and instability. Security is the foundation upon which every strong economy is built.”

The ADC presidential hopeful also promised to implement policies that would lower business costs, support small businesses, create more opportunities for youths, and promote inclusive economic growth.

He continued, “I have spent decades helping businesses grow and supporting the creation of jobs. I understand what it takes to build institutions, unlock investment, and create opportunities at scale. Nigeria has the talent and potential to succeed, but we need disciplined leadership and serious execution. This is why I am putting my best foot forward.”

The ADC has scheduled the sale of expression of interest and nomination forms from May 6 to May 13.
