Former presidential candidate and activist, Omoyele Sowore, has stirred reactions online after making a controversial statement about how he would handle Nigeria’s defence system if elected president in 2027.
Speaking during a recent discussion, the African Action Congress (AAC) presidential hopeful stated:
“If I become President tomorrow, my Minister of Defence will be a drone.”
The comment immediately triggered debates across social media, with many Nigerians expressing mixed opinions about Sowore’s statement, while others argued that he was referring to the increasing role of technology and drones in modern warfare and security operations.
Reacting to the statement, X user @Hilary4477 wrote:
