2027:We’re Going To Have Big Fish From South, Lesser Fish From East And The Biggest From West—Momodu

A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dele Momodu, has said that the 2027 presidential election is going to be tense, as it is expected to feature some of the most influential political figures from different parts of Southern Nigeria.…....

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, Momodu stated that the political battle ahead would not be an ordinary contest, but one involving powerful and well-known politicians with strong national influence.

According to him, reports surrounding the possible declaration of former President Goodluck Jonathan have already changed the political atmosphere ahead of the 2027 election. He added that the presence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Peter Obi, and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso would make the election one of the fiercest political contests Nigeria may witness in recent years.

In his words:

“We are just hearing about the declaration of former President Goodluck Jonathan. It tells you that the game ahead is going to be a game of the biggest boys. President Jonathan is formidable; President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, being the current president, is extraordinarily formidable; and then the combination of Peter Obi and Kwankwaso is also going to be formidable.”

Speaking further, Momodu used a “fish” analogy to describe the political strength of the expected contenders from different regions. He described Jonathan from the South-South as a “very big fish,” Peter Obi from the South-East as a “lesser fish,” and President Tinubu from the South-West as “the biggest fish among them.”

He said:

“So we are going to have a very big fish from the South-South, a lesser fish from the South-East, and the biggest fish among them from the South-West.”
