The Allied People’s Movement (APM) has officially affirmed Dr. Yakubu Adamu as its governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections in Bauchi State.
The party also affirmed Governor Bala Mohammed as its candidate for the Bauchi South Senatorial seat in the forthcoming elections.
Speaking during the affirmation ceremony held on Thursday, 28 May, 2026, at the Sulaiman Adamu Square, Government House, Bauchi, the Bauchi State Chairman of the APM, Auwal Isa, said the party is ready to participate fully in the 2027 elections and is presenting credible and qualified candidates to fly its flag.
Similarly, Hon. Danlami Ahmed Kawule, who supervised the affirmation exercise, noted that the APM is fast gaining political strength and acceptability across Bauchi State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He said the vision, achievements, and leadership style of the governor had inspired him to join the race, with a commitment to build on the progress recorded over the past seven years.
Dr. Adamu commended the leadership of the APM, party members, and supporters across the state for their confidence and support, describing the party’s internal democracy as a major strength.
He said the inclusive nature of the party had ensured the successful conduct of congresses at ward, local government, and state levels.
According to him, “What makes our movement exceptional is our belief in internal democracy, a process that values the voices of all members, promotes unity, and strengthens collective decision-making.”
He also praised the party leadership for ensuring a level playing field during the consensus and affirmation processes, adding that the party is united and satisfied with the outcomes at all levels.
Addressing other aspirants, he commended their dedication and contributions, saying their participation had strengthened democracy within the party.
“Now that the contest is over, the real task begins. We must unite under one banner, focused on victory in 2027,” he said.
