Atiku Abubakar, former vice president is set to formally present his presidential nomination form for 2027 election at the national secretariat of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Abuja on Monday, May 11.

The ADC disclosed in a statement on Saturday that Atiku had completed payment for the party’s presidential nomination form and officially received his payment receipt.

“A New Chapter in Nigeria’s Democratic Journey: H.E. Atiku Abubakar, GCON, has officially received his payment receipt to contest under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) ahead of the 2027 Presidential Election,” the statement read.

According to the party, the formal presentation of the nomination forms is expected to hold at the ADC National Secretariat in Abuja.

“The formal presentation of nomination forms is expected on Monday at the ADC National Secretariat, Abuja. The movement is growing. Hope is rising. Expect more,” the statement added.

The party described the development as another major step in what it called a growing movement for national renewal, democratic inclusion and people-driven leadership.

The ADC also reiterated its commitment to building a platform centred on unity, competence, economic recovery, security and national development.

One of the images released by the party reportedly showed Atiku’s official receipt for the ₦90 million presidential nomination form dated May 8, 2026, alongside a campaign poster bearing the slogan: “A Leader. A Vision. A New Nigeria.”

Atiku Abubakar defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the ADC in late 2025, positioning the party as one of the major opposition platforms challenging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress ahead of the 2027 general elections.
