It is undeniable that Nigerian superstar singer Davido is loved by many, young and old alike.
The singer, who had attended a recent event with his crew, was captured in a video online, sharing a sweet moment with an overzealous young fan.
In the clip, the young boy approached the singer as the singer was speaking to guests at the event. Davido, who at first didn’t notice him, ignored him as he exchanged pleasantries with others.
The young lad held tightly to the singer and followed him around till he recognised him and hugged him.
Last year, Davido responded to a bizarre request from one of his fans. The award-winning Afrobeat singer shared a DM from a fan who asked him to fly a commercial plane for a month and humble other artists. Davido responded to his request with laughing emojis.
Also, last year, the music star and father of six was slapped by a fan during his visit to Warri. In the viral clip, the singer was guided into the building by security as crowds of Warri fans serenaded him. An enthusiastic fan took things to an extreme as he slapped the husband of Chioma on his head.
Similarly, an overzealous fan of Davido caused a stir online over his toxic show of love to his Idol. The music star was captured in a video on an outing with his first daughter, Imade and her friend, when a die-hard fan of the singer lost his cool on sighting him, held tightly to his leg, almost dragging him to the floor. Luckily for Davido, his security intervened and almost beat up the fan.
Two years back, Davido’s bouncer, Lati, came under fire after a video of him assaulting the singer’s fan went viral. Following the backlash, Lati had allegedly compensated him for the assault with N200k and had reached out to him to apologise for his wrongdoing.
In 2023, during Mohbad’s Candlelight ceremony, Davido made headlines after he was captured knocking a fan’s phone as he attempted to capture the singer.
Also, during his Timeless Concert, Davido was on alert mode after a fan stormed the stage to meet him. The singer was ready to punch the fan, but the timely security intervention threw the fan off stage.
