Nigerian socialite, Cubana Chief Priest, has reacted to the news of Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara, withdrawing from the state APC gubernatorial primary.
Kemi Filani reported that Fubara had announced his withdrawal from the All Progressives Congress governorship primary election in the state.
He said he would support whoever emerges as the party’s candidate, and that his decision followed extensive consultations with his family, friends, and political associates. Fubara said that although the decision was difficult, he remained committed to supporting whoever would emerge as the APC governorship candidate.
Reacting to it in a since-deleted post on his Instagram story, he expressed excitement over the news, noting how his favourite Wike won.
“Woke won
Agreement is Agreement”.

A week ago, Chief Priest had revealed why Governor Otti of Abia State had refused to join ADC. He alleged that the President has been injecting funds into Abia State to help Otti succeed. Chief Priest hailed Tinubu, calling him a president with doings and affirming his respect for him.
In a Live stream with TikToker Peller, CP said Tinubu doesn’t fully trust him because he is an Igbo man and once worked for Peter Obi, so they feel he can betray him too. Chief Priest revealed that he left Peter Obi because he didn’t want to keep losing, as the former Governor isn’t ready, and he doesn’t see him winning the next election.
He also spoke about his election loss, saying he will never give up, even if he loses again. CP noted that those trolling and mocking him aren’t financially buoyant, so he isn’t bothered by what poor men are saying.
Kemi Filani reported that Cubana was vying for the APC’s ticket for Orsu/Orlu/Oru East federal constituency seat in the House of Representatives ahead of the 2027 general elections.
However, he lost to Canice More Nwachukwu, the incumbent for the constituency. Nwachukwu is serving his second term.
Speaking out, Chief Priest said he only got 14 votes in the primary. The socialite described himself as a hustler, hence why he doesn’t regret trying to contest for a position. However, his only regret was trusting the elders in the community, knowing how much he had given them.
The president’s son, Seyi Tinubu, had encouraged him to keep his head up, telling him that people sometimes lose a battle to find a new way to win the war. Seyi added that people know what he is capable of achieving.
Reacting to it, Chief Priest reposted his message on his Instagram story.
Chief Priest, who used to be a die-hard fan and supporter of Peter Obi, surprised many when he switched teams to President Tinubu.
He was appointed as Imo State director of City Boy Movement, CBM, the youth-focused support group for Tinubu’s re-election.
