The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced plans to inaugurate its Selection Committee as part of preparations for the forthcoming general elections.
In a statement, the party said the inauguration will be performed by its National Leader, Henry Seriake Dickson, on Monday, 25 May 2026, at the NDC National Secretariat.

The development follows the completion of the party’s screening exercise for governorship, National Assembly and State Houses of Assembly aspirants.
According to the statement, the 21-member committee will be chaired by the NDC National Chairman, Moses Cleopas Zuwoghe, and is tasked with reviewing and taking decisions on reports submitted by the National Screening Committee and various state screening panels.
The party explained that the committee was constituted in line with its commitment to transparency, internal democracy and credible candidate selection.
It added that the initiative, backed by the National Working Committee, is aimed at ensuring that the party fields strong and competitive candidates for all elective positions in the upcoming polls.
