EFCC arraigns social media influencer Blessing CEO in Lagos for alleged ₦36m fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned popular social media personality, Blessing CEO, before the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, in connection with an alleged ₦36 million fraud.

The arraignment took place on Thursday, May 15, with the influencer facing charges that include obtaining money under false pretence and fraudulent conversion of funds.

According to the EFCC, she allegedly obtained the sum of ₦36 million from one Mrs. Ifeyinwa Nonye Okoye under the pretence of securing a six-bedroom detached duplex located in Lekki, Lagos.

The anti-graft agency further accused her of fraudulently converting the money for personal use instead of using it for the purported property transaction.

Following her arraignment, the presiding judge ordered that she be remanded in EFCC custody pending the commencement of trial.

The matter was subsequently adjourned till June 5 for trial proceedings to begin.
