Egonga from Equatorial Guinea, who reportedly slept with over 100 women, has been released from prison.

Reports circulating on social media claim that controversial Equatorial Guinean public figure Baltasar Ebang Engonga, widely known online as Egonga, has been released after allegedly serving a two-year prison term.

Engonga, a former Director-General of the National Agency for Financial Investigation (ANIF), became the subject of intense public attention in 2024 following allegations involving financial misconduct and a separate scandal linked to leaked explicit recordings that drew widespread public reaction.

Engonga was arrested during a government-led investigation into alleged corruption and abuse of office involving public funds. The case later progressed to court proceedings, where he faced charges related to financial irregularities during his tenure in office.

In 2025, court proceedings in Equatorial Guinea resulted in a conviction for embezzlement-related offences. Reports from judicial coverage at the time indicated a custodial sentence alongside financial penalties and restrictions from holding public office.
