A Nigerian woman has sparked conversations online after sharing an emotional video alleging that her husband refuses to assist her with household responsibilities despite her recovering from a Caesarean section (CS).
In the viral clip, the woman lamented that she has been struggling physically and emotionally since giving birth, accusing her husband of allegedly showing little support at home.
According to her, she constantly begs him to help carry the baby so she can attend to chores, but he allegedly returns the child almost immediately.
“Am I wrong by asking him to help me out in the house? I gave birth through CS. My tummy is paining me. He will only say sorry, he will not help me. How many times will I beg him to help me carry the baby, let me do some chores? He will return the baby back within two minutes,” she said tearfully.
The video has since generated mixed reactions on social media, with many users criticizing the husband’s alleged behavior, while others accused the woman of taking private marital issues online.
Reacting to the video, @vera_nuel wrote:
“Don’t be a stooped bitch. Dump that child on him and go back to your parents house. After all he’s not married to you.”
Another user, @godOfwaterz, questioned her decision to speak publicly:
“And you think social media will solve your problems?”
A different user, @achinike4, commented:
“Gen Z women. Always running to social media. Rubbish.”
Others, however, sympathized with the woman, stressing that women recovering from childbirth, especially through CS, deserve adequate care, emotional support, and assistance from their partners.
