According to a video posted on the official YouTube channel of Trust TV on Monday, May 25, 2026, the Kano State Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature, has reacted to recent political remarks made by former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, concerning developments within Kano politics and the Kwankwasiyya movement.…....
Speaking during an interview on Sunday Politics, Bature defended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, insisting that his political decisions were guided by prevailing political realities in the state.
He also stated that the governor’s political alignment had contributed to stabilizing the ruling structure in Kano State.
During the interview, Bature questioned Kwankwaso’s recent political engagements and movements across different political platforms.
According to him, “He spent 33 days in the ADC. He met with Atiku, Tambuwal, and El-Rufai. These are the same people he described as his political enemies.”
Bature argued that Kwankwaso’s interactions with various opposition figures appeared to contradict his earlier public criticisms of some of those same politicians.
He further alleged that the former governor’s political relationships have shown inconsistency in recent times.
The spokesperson maintained that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf remains focused on governance, unity within the political structure, and preparations ahead of the 2027 general elections.
