Speaking during a recent interview with media personality Adesope Olajide on the @afrobeatspodcast, the rapper disclosed that he was forced to stop smoking because he started living with his parents, who strongly disapproved of the habit.
According to Zlatan Ibile, he picked up smoking after venturing into music because his parents were far away from him at the time. However, whenever they came across videos of him smoking online, they would call to express their disappointment.
The Ekiti State-born rapper explained that despite all the things he does to make his mother happy, she remains unhappy with his smoking habit.
The “Jaboti” hitmaker added that his parents are very disciplined and strict, noting that even at the age of 31, he still cannot buy alcohol and drink it openly in front of them.
His revelation has since generated mixed reactions online, with many fans praising him for respecting his parents’ values and making changes to please them.
