Jaafar Bello, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, has criticised former Kano State governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, describing him as a destabilising figure in every political party he joins.
Bello made the remarks during an interview on Trust TV while reacting to reports surrounding Kwankwaso’s political movements from the New Nigeria Peoples Party to the African Democratic Congress and later to the Nigeria Democratic Congress.
According to Bello, Kwankwaso’s style of politics often creates internal tension and division within political parties, leading to conflicts among party leaders and members. He argued that although opposition parties may initially welcome Kwankwaso because of his political influence and support base, such alliances frequently end in disagreements and factional disputes.
Speaking during the interview, Bello said: “I told you that Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso is going to be toxic to any political party he decides to join. He went to the ADC, he was toxic.”
The PDP chieftain maintained that concerns about Kwankwaso’s political ambitions and leadership approach had existed for years among party stakeholders and politicians across the country. According to him, recent developments within opposition politics appear to support those fears.
Bello also suggested that parties seeking to strengthen their position ahead of future elections should be cautious about political alliances that could create instability within their ranks.
Kwankwaso, a former presidential candidate and influential northern politician, remains one of the most prominent opposition figures in Nigeria. His political decisions and alliances have continued to attract national attention, particularly as discussions around future political coalitions intensify ahead of upcoming elections.
The comments have since generated reactions among political observers and supporters online, with many debating Kwankwaso’s influence on opposition politics in Nigeria…See More
