“I Want To Tell You Clearly That It Is Otti Himself Who Is Being Used To Destabilize The LP”-Abure

The factional National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Julius Abure, has made a fresh public statement addressing the ongoing leadership crisis within the party, while reacting to allegations of manipulation, external influence, and internal sabotage ahead of future elections.…....

Abure made the remarks during an interview on Symfoni TV, where he spoke extensively on the internal disputes affecting the Labour Party and the roles played by key political figures in the unfolding crisis.

In his statement, he addressed claims that Abia State Governor Alex Otti is being used by external forces to destabilize the party structure.

He said, “I want to tell you clearly that it is Alex Otti himself who is being used to destabilize the party,” insisting that the real drivers of the crisis were not always those being publicly accused.

According to him, the Labour Party’s internal challenges escalated after certain post-election decisions that, in his view, undermined the existing party leadership structure and created parallel centres of authority.

Abure further alleged that in 2024, both Peter Obi and Alex Otti were given free tickets for the 2027 general election under his leadership, stressing that such decisions were part of efforts to maintain unity and prepare the party for future contests.

He argued that instead of consolidating those arrangements, some actions taken by key stakeholders contributed to division and factionalisation within the party.

The Labour Party chairman maintained that his leadership has remained focused on building a strong opposition platform and preserving the party’s structures despite ongoing disputes.

He concluded by expressing confidence that the truth about the internal crisis would eventually become clear as legal and political processes continue.
