The party explained that the judgment has removed immediate obstacles that previously affected its internal political activities and organisational plans. The development was discussed publicly by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, during a television interview where he addressed the legal dispute involving the party and its implications for future political activities........…
According to Abdullahi, the ruling by the Supreme .... Court has provided clarity regarding issues that had created uncertainty within the party’s leadership structure.
He explained that the disagreement began after what he described as the wrong application of an earlier decision made by the Court of Appeal.
According to him, the interpretation of that .... judgment led to actions that affected the structure and administration of the ADC, creating challenges for the party at a critical period of political preparation.
The ADC spokesman maintained that the Supreme Court decision has now corrected the situation and restored the party’s ability to function effectively.
He said the ruling has given the party greater confidence to continue with internal planning, political mobilisation, and preparations for future elections.
According to him, the judgment is important because it allows the ADC to move forward with activities that had been slowed by legal uncertainty and internal disputes.
Abdullahi explained that one of the major priorities for the party is preparing for the conduct of primaries ahead of the 2027 elections.
He stated that political parties must organise .... themselves properly before elections, including putting structures in place for candidate selection and engagement with supporters across the country.
According to him, the recent legal development has strengthened the ADC’s position to continue these activities without the same level of uncertainty that existed previously.
He also acknowledged that the party’s legal challenges are not completely over. According to him, there are still cases pending before the Federal High Court that may continue for some time.
Despite this, he insisted that the ADC is prepared to continue pursuing its political activities while also defending its position through legal means.
He explained that the party remains committed to following due process and respecting judicial institutions throughout the ongoing dispute.
Abdullahi stated that the ADC would continue to make use of legal channels whenever necessary.
He noted that political parties and individuals have the right to seek further judicial review if they are dissatisfied with court decisions.
According to him, this process is part of the country’s legal and democratic system, and the ADC is prepared to follow lawful procedures in defending its interests.
He stressed that the party would continue to respect the judiciary while also protecting its political structure through available legal options.
The comments from the ADC come at a time when political parties across Nigeria are gradually increasing activities ahead of the next electoral cycle.
Although the 2027 elections are still some distance away, parties have already begun internal consultations, mobilisation efforts, and discussions around leadership structures.
For smaller opposition parties such as the ADC, maintaining organisational stability is considered important as they seek to strengthen their position within the country’s political environment.
