Ralph Nwosu, during an interview on Symfoni Tv on May 16, 2026, spoke about the political coalition formed ahead of the 2019 general elections. He explained that the alliance was created in response to concerns about the direction of the country under the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the ruling APC.…....
Nwosu stated that the coalition brought together political parties and civil society groups under the Coalition for Nigerian Movement. According to him, the group emerged when the first term of former President Muhammadu Buhari was nearing its end. He said members of the coalition believed the APC government was not delivering positive results for the country.
In his words, “In 2018, former president Obasanjo set up a coalition of political parties, civil societies, etc. They called it the Coalition for Nigerian Movement (CNM), and then we came together. That was when the first term of Buhari was coming to an end. They came together and said ‘what we’ve seen of APC cannot do this country good’. It’s not just about the man Buhari. Buhari is a great man, a patriot, thinks right, integrity, but the type of people around him was awful.”
