The event attracted worshippers, church leaders and dignitaries who gathered to celebrate the history and growth of the church in the community.
While delivering his homily during the anniversary celebration, Ezeokafor described the 2027 presidential election as a common cause for the Igbo people.
He said the region should work together toward ensuring that an Igbo candidate emerges as the next President of Nigeria, adding that the opportunity should not be ignored by the people of the South-East.
The cleric also used the church programme to administer the sacrament of confirmation to 203 candidates.
He encouraged the candidates to remain steadfast in their Christian faith and urged them to defend the church and their beliefs with commitment and courage as soldiers of Christ.
During the sermon, Ezeokafor criticised the administration of President Bola Tinubu, saying that the present government has subjected many Nigerians to hardship and suffering.
He maintained that citizens across the country are struggling under the current economic situation and expressed concern over the living conditions faced by ordinary people.
The bishop also commended the Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo, for efforts in improving security and infrastructure within the state.
He praised the governor for projects such as road construction, installation of solar-powered streetlights, establishment of general hospitals and provision of solar-powered boreholes in different communities.
He said, “The 2027 general election is a collective Igbo project. It is the turn of Ndigbo to produce the President of Nigeria in 2027, and Ndigbo must support their own.”
