Was Bishop George Keya buried?
According to reports, the bishop’s body finally arrived in Kenya and he was laid to rest on Saturday, May 23.
John Karanja Wairimu, a Kenyan living in Seattle, revealed that the man of God died from a heart attack.
He also explained that the mortuary graciously released the body on credit, noting that funds were still needed to clear the outstanding costs.
“A beloved bishop has now been laid to rest after a heartbreaking season in which his body remained in the morgue for seven months following his passing from a heart attack. His wife is also deceased, and with very few people able to step in, the burden of his funeral expenses and debt became overwhelming,” he said.
John further noted that the body had started decomposing, prompting the urgent need to transport it to Bungoma, Kenya, for immediate burial.
“There is still an outstanding balance owed to the funeral home, and we need the support of our community right now. As a community, we now have an American funeral home debt that still needs to be cleared,” he added.
