Among those who attended the requiem mass was Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, who shared a heartfelt message consoling Kiraitu and his family.

“At the requiem mass in honour of Anita Kendi, a daughter of my long-time friend Kiraitu Murungi, former Cabinet Minister and former Governor of Meru County,” Kindiki wrote.

He described the loss of a child as the most painful experience any parent can endure, noting that no amount of consolation could fully comfort the grieving family.

“The loss of a child is the most painful experience for a parent, and no amount of consolation is enough to comfort my brother Kiraitu and his family. May God comfort them,” he added.

Kindiki also used the solemn occasion to call for unity and peace across the country amid recent unrest and violent incidents reported in different areas.
