The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Kwara State Council has appealed to the state government to assist with the burial expenses of the three unionists that died in a fatal accident while returning to their base after participating in the 2026 Workers’ Day rally held in Ilorin.
The NLC also urged the government to ensure full medical coverage for those receiving treatment in the hospital, following varying degrees of injuries sustained in the road accident.
The deceased who were members of the Medical and Health Workers’ Union of Nigeria (MHWUN) Ekiti local government area branch, died in a fatal road accident on May Day 2026, while returning home from the Workers’ Day rally held at the Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin.
