Oyo Police Debunk Reports of Release of Abducted Students, Teachers in Orire

The Oyo State Police Command has dismissed reports claiming that students, pupils, and teachers abducted in the Orire Local Government Area area of Oyo State have regained their freedom, describing the information as false and misleading.

In a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, the Command clarified that the victims are yet to be released, stressing that security agencies are intensifying efforts to ensure their safe rescue and apprehend those responsible for the abduction.

The police urged residents and members of the public to remain calm and avoid spreading unverified information that could undermine ongoing security operations.

According to the Command, rumours circulating about the rescue of the victims are inaccurate and capable of creating unnecessary panic, increasing tension, and distracting security personnel from critical operations.

The Command further assured residents of Oyo State that updates and verified information would be communicated as developments unfold.

Residents seeking authentic information or clarification were advised to contact the Police Public Relations Officer or the Command’s emergency control room.

The statement reaffirmed the commitment of security agencies to securing the safe return of the abducted victims and bringing the perpetrators to justice.
