Peter Obi can’t lift Nigeria out of poverty – Yul Edochie

Yul Edochie has continued his criticism of Peter Obi, saying
the former Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate “is no match for President
Bola Tinubu”.

In a series of posts on his X page, Edochie argued that
Obi’s tenure as Anambra governor lacked meaningful impact and that his
leadership style disqualifies him from governing Nigeria.

“Peter Obi is not a true Igbo man. He does not have the
spirit of Ndi Igbo in him. He’s not a leader,” Edochie wrote.

The actor invoked the Igbo principle “onye aghana nwanne ya”
— meaning “do not leave your brother behind” — to argue that Obi failed to lift
others during his time in power.

“How can you spend many years in power, many years as a
successful business man, yet nobody can say he’s successful today because of
you,” he added.

“You can’t even lift your family members.”

Drawing a contrast with his own industry, Edochie claimed:
“In Nollywood, there are people who will tell you they’re successful today
because of Yul Edochie.

“Not one person can say that about Peter Obi. Are you a
saddist?”

He questioned Obi’s use of influence and also dismissed his
record as governor of Anambra state.

“What are you doing with the power God has given you? If you
can’t lift people around you out of poverty, you simply can’t lift Nigeria out
of poverty,” he said.

“Peter Obi built nothing in Anambra.

“Absolutely nothing. If you can’t build Anambra you can’t
build Nigeria. Simple and short.”

Concluding his remarks, the actor reiterated: “Peter Obi is
no match for Tinubu.”

The Nollywood actor recently claimed that any political
party Obi joins will collapse due to a “non-physical” problem.
