Mrs. Alamu, the principal of Community High School, Esele in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, has made an emotional appeal to the government following the kidnapping of teachers and students by bandits.
In a video circulating online, the school principal pleaded with President Bola Tinubu and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde to prioritise dialogue over the use of force in handling the situation.
According to her, a recent security operation allegedly worsened the situation and further endangered the lives of those abducted.
She claimed one of the victims had reportedly been singled out for possible execution because of the attempted rescue effort.
Mrs. Alamu urged authorities to establish communication with the abductors and seek a peaceful resolution that would ensure the safe return of the kidnapped teachers and students.
In the video, she said …
“I’m begging the government, president Tinubu and the governor of Oyo state, engr. Seyi Makinde to please help us and dialogue with these people. They should not use force. The force they used yesterday has caused us so much. It has added to our problems. In fact one of us have been picked that they’re going to kill him because government tried to help us by force. We want you to call them and dialogue with them…”
